Line It Up

Official Rules

Line It Up is a live 40 yard dash tournament organized by Line It Up (the "Organizer"). These rules cover entry, selection, competition, and prizes for Line It Up events, including the event on September 19, 2026 in Austin, TX at Sacrifice Training.

No purchase necessary

Entry is free. There is no entry fee, no purchase of any kind is required to enter or to be selected for the field, and the app is the only way in: there is no day of entry and no walk ups.

Eligibility

• Open to runners who can compete in person at the event city on the event date.
• Runners under 18 need a parent or guardian to register on their behalf and accompany them at the event. Runners under 13 also need a parent or guardian to create the account.
• Divisions for September 19, 2026 are men's, women's, Masters Men 50 and over, and Masters Women 50 and over. A Masters entry requires the runner to be 50 or older on race day. Age is confirmed by officials.
• The main men's and women's brackets are 18 and over.
• A runner enters one division per event. Officials may move an entry to the correct division, and may set field sizes, add or retire divisions, and decline or remove entries that break these rules or the spirit of fair competition.

How entry works

• Entry is in the app and it is free. The app is the only way into the field: there is no day of entry and no walk ups. Enter with a filmed 40, a time carried from a previous Line It Up, or a self reported past Line It Up time.
• Any time attached to an entry is a screening time. It helps officials rank entries and select the field, and it is never an official result. Only a 40 run at a live event, timed by officials, is official.
• Officials review every entry, confirm times where possible, and select the field. On event day officials run a seed round and those times set the brackets.
• Selected runners are notified in the app and by email.

Competition and winners

• Races are head to head 40 yard dashes in a single elimination bracket. Officials time every race, and the winner of each race advances.
• The champion of each bracket is the runner who wins the bracket final. The fastest single time of the day in each bracket is a separate award.
• Officials' timing decisions are final.

Prizes

Prize amounts for each event are published in the app and on lineitup40.com before the event, and are announced per division. For September 19, 2026: a cash prize for each bracket champion, plus a cash award for the fastest 40 of the day. Prizes are paid to the winner at or after the event. Winners are responsible for any taxes on prizes.
