Agreement
Last updated August 30, 2026. This agreement covers the Line It Up 40 yard dash tournament in Austin, Texas on September 19, 2026, and any later Line It Up event you enter.
Read this before you enter. Sprinting is a physical, maximal effort activity and this is a real race. By entering, you accept the risks described here and you give up certain legal rights. If you do not agree with any part of it, do not enter.
Who this is between
You, the participant, and Matadi Group LLC doing business as Line It Up, together with its owners, officers, employees, officials, timers, volunteers, contractors, sponsors, and the owners and operators of the venue. This agreement calls all of them the Organizers.
You are fit to race
- You are physically able to run a maximal effort 40 yard dash and you have no medical condition that makes racing unsafe for you.
- You are responsible for deciding whether to race, and for stopping if something feels wrong. Officials may also stop you at any time.
- The men's and women's brackets are for runners 18 and over. The Masters brackets are for runners 50 and over. Ages are confirmed by officials.
Assumption of risk
Sprinting carries a real risk of injury, including serious injury and death. Risks include, and are not limited to: pulled, torn or ruptured muscles and tendons, particularly hamstrings; sprains and fractures; falls and collisions with other runners, officials, equipment, or the ground; heat illness, dehydration and cardiac events; conditions of the field or the weather; the acts or omissions of other participants; and the acts or omissions of the Organizers, including their negligence.
You knowingly and voluntarily accept all of these risks, both those described here and those that are inherent in the activity and cannot be fully eliminated.
Release of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by Texas law, you release, waive, and agree not to sue the Organizers for any claim, demand, injury, illness, death, loss, or damage of any kind arising out of or connected with your participation, INCLUDING ANY CLAIM CAUSED IN WHOLE OR IN PART BY THE ORGANIZERS' OWN NEGLIGENCE.
This release covers you, and anyone claiming through you, including your family, heirs, and estate. It does not release the Organizers from gross negligence, willful or wanton misconduct, or anything a release cannot lawfully cover.
You also agree to indemnify and hold the Organizers harmless from claims brought by others that arise out of your own actions at the event.
Medical consent
If you are injured or become ill, you consent to first aid, emergency medical care, and transport by the Organizers or by emergency services. You are responsible for the cost of any medical care you receive, and you confirm you have insurance or accept that responsibility yourself. The Organizers do not provide medical insurance for participants.
Photography, video and your results
- The event is filmed and photographed, and races are streamed and posted publicly.
- You grant the Organizers permission to record you and to use your name, city, division, times, results, image, likeness and voice in coverage, broadcast, highlights, the app, the website, social media, and promotion of Line It Up, without payment, worldwide, and with no time limit.
- Your results are public. Your name, city, division, age group and official times appear on the public board, the bracket, the record book, and shareable result pages. This is the point of the event, and it is not something you can opt out of while taking part.
- You keep the right to your own footage. This permission is about coverage of the event.
Entry, the field, and prizes
- Entry is free and is made in the Line It Up app. There is no day of entry and no walk ups.
- Entering does not guarantee a place. Officials review every entry and select the field, and their decisions about entry, seeding, times, conduct and results are final.
- Any time attached to your entry is a screening time and is never an official result. Only a 40 run at the event and timed by officials is official.
- Prizes are announced per event. Winners are responsible for any taxes, and may be asked to provide the information needed to pay them.
- The Organizers may change the format, field sizes, schedule or divisions, and may postpone or cancel for weather, safety, or anything outside their control.
Conduct
Follow officials' instructions. Fighting, threats, harassment, cheating, or racing under the influence gets you removed with no prize and no appeal. Filing a false or altered entry video is cheating.
If you are under 18
The men's and women's brackets are 18 and over, so a minor cannot enter them. Where a Line It Up event offers a youth division, a parent or legal guardian must enter on the minor's behalf, agree to this document for them, and be present at the event. A parent or guardian who does that agrees to everything above on the minor's behalf and for themselves.
The rest
- This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Texas, and any dispute belongs in the state or federal courts serving Travis County, Texas.
- If a court finds any part of this unenforceable, the rest still stands.
- This is the whole agreement between you and the Organizers about the risks of participating, and it replaces anything said elsewhere.

You agree to this document when you submit your entry in the Line It Up app, and again at check in on event day. Keep a copy: this page is always at lineitup40.com/waiver.html.
