Questions

BEFORE YOU LINE UP.

What’s the difference between the brackets?
The People’s 40 is for everyday people who love to compete. Coming in 2027: Elite 8, an invitation-only bracket for elite runners and pro athletes, and Line It Up Teams, a tournament bracket for five-person teams from any organization or group. Teams advance round by round by winning at least three of five head-to-head races per matchup, with separate men’s and women’s divisions. Start in the app to enter The People’s 40.
When is the next Line It Up?
Saturday, December 12, 2026 in Austin, at Sacrifice Training in Pflugerville, first gun at noon. Entries are open in the app now. Two events ran before it, July 18 in Pflugerville and September 19 in Austin.
How do I enter The People’s 40?
Open the app, create your profile, and choose your event and division to enter. 16 men and 16 women make it, plus Masters brackets for 50 and over.
How old do you have to be?
The brackets are 18 and over. Under 18 can come and watch. The app is open from 13, so younger runners can train with Speed IQ and join a club.
What does The People’s 40 cost to enter?
Nothing. You enter in the app before entries close for that event, and that is the whole cost.
What is Speed IQ?
The part of the app that works between events. Film any sprint from the side and it reads your form and hands you the drills. Switch on Time this run and your 40 goes on your record, read against your own best. Answer seven questions and it builds your week. And Ask Speed IQ sits under every read for the follow up.
What did the champions win?
In Austin, $1,000 each plus a $100 bonus for the fastest 40 of the day, paid the same day. In Pflugerville it was $1,500 each. Prize money is set per event and published before entries open.
